another edition of "yes, I sent this."

Dear Sound,

For a station that's about "world class rock," you sure play a lot of Counting Crows.  Every time I flip to your station, they're on.

Please stop.

They suck.  They sucked in 1994, they disappeared for good reason, and despite your best efforts to revive them by playing them every other hour until I'd like to stab Mr. Joooooooones ( Read more... )

My work computer has no speakers and is behind the firewall of DOOOOOOM. No internet radio for me.

I agree. Counting Crows are whiny.

Every time I've turned on "the sound" I've not been impressed. And my car radio accidentally erased the pre-set, so I keep forgetting to give it another try.

It's like alt-rock you can listen to at work. Once NPR stops playing music, it's the best of the terrestrial stations we can pick up at work, but that's not saying much. *sigh*

Everytime I listen to the Sound (except when playing the aforementioned whiny douch-rock-band-whom-i-will-not-dignify-by-typing-their-name) I think to myself "Wow, this sounds like everything in darknessorlight's CD collection."
Well almost everything; they don't play your Marc Almond, New Model Army, and anything else cool in YOUR collection that Purple H *CLAIMS* is hers (but we know she's lying).

SO they play obscure prog-metal bands, obscure darkwave bands?

Could you change the band to Nirvana and send that out to KROQ.

Oh, and then change it to Coldplay and send that out to Star (oh, and remember to change the year too)?

Coldplay also does not rock.

However.. Nirvana *does* rock. It's hard to tell when they only play four songs, but I'd take Nirvana over whiny wuss-rock any day.

I've heard Nirvana waaaaaayyyyyyyy too much for it to be anything but really annoying to me until the day I die.

Cobain is spinning in his grave, only not his own records...

nirvana, the chili peppers, no doubt... and others to be named later are banned from my life. BANNED. Why? Because when I'm trapped w/ listening to radio - any time I can flip thru the big 3-5 stations that will posssssibly be playing something decent they are all playing one of those bands. Incubus is slowly joining the ranks.
