This point I'd regard from the perspective of legislature and culture in an interplay with each other.
American legislature assumes the ability to consent to sex to the age of 18 and above, anything else before is illegal.
If thinking about that on a deeper level, try to see the consequences of that: Is it a miracle then that American teens are horribly inexperienced in treating this maturely and vulnerable to sayings to them "what is right, what is wrong and what already is assault"?
People who are being legally denied the ability to consent and to have sex - if it truly surprises anyone that permanently horny students at college arise from that who are craving for their first time of getting laid, then someone is just as stupid as he/she looks.
On another hand, that's the base to make young women buy into such bullshit as "rape culture", if they have had their first sex on alcohol at college. Because they're totally inscure and without knowledge what to expect from sex and how it could actually feel good to them quality-wise. ( ... )

What is contradictive here is that: Having sex commercially - reserved for adults. Porn - legally reserved for adults. (And even hardcore porn falls under such strict criteria of "youth protection" for media here that it's damned to only be lent, sold or made accessible to you under the counter and upon response. Even for adults!) Naked people without displaying genitals (softcore erotica) - okay from age 16 and older ( ... )
