Yes. White on black, man on woman - that's what receives plublic interest and is being verbally raised to the severity of a war crime that killed hundreds and thousands of people.
But that most violence, involving a gun or not, happens as "man on man" - this is like being forgotten and pushed out of consciousness. Like a pattern of killing that is socially accepted. That is like "Where is the news?".
