Selected!

All I am allowed to say, according to the judge, is that I was selected to be on the jury for a criminal trial. The trial will continue tomorrow.

Any questions you have must wait until after the conclusion of the trial :-)

Well, there's one thing you're allowed to say, basically, and that's the length of the trial. Have they given you an estimate?

At least it's not a week or more of trial. That's really what I was most curious about.

I kinda wish it were a longer trial, though I'm sure my supervisor wants me back RIGHT NOW ;-)

I get $15 per day, woohoo, what should I buy?

I found my jury duty experience fascinating! Hope it is an interesting case, can't wait to hear about it if you choose to reveal anything once it's over with!

I was wondering why your post appeared and then disappeared and then reappeared. :^)

And there goes the theory about lawyers not being chosen for juries!

I was about to ask what the defense was thinking, failing to prevent a lawyer from being on the jury, but then realized that if there's anyone who's actually going to contemplate reasonable doubt... so maybe it's prosecution that should have objected? :)

Both sides were out of challenges by the time they got to me. I was the last person added to the jury.

Ah, well that's what they get for using up their challenges on housewives and whatnot, I guess. :)
