I'd like to make an update to the Kansas City Museum & Planetarium listing above.

Corinthian hall is undergoing major renovations, as is the history museum housed on property. The planetarium is now called the "Storytarium" and shows short films about the life of the Long Family (the family that owned Corinthian hall) and the history of Kansas City.

The gift shop is located in Hammer Hall, a building on property near the Storytarium. There are signs everywhere directing you towards the gift shop where you can read books about the history of Kansas City, as well as purchase trinkets, gifts, books, and memorabilia.

Around Christmas time, the Fairy Princess comes to the Kansas City Museum, so be sure to bring your children to that as well!

The KC Museum also has scheduled a lot of outdoor activities this summer, since the building is closed. They have a family fun day the first Sunday of every month, and a some other picnics and movies are on the calendar. All free, donations accepted.

They've had the Fairy Princess at Zona Rosa the last two years, too. I hope they don't move her permanently.

I think the Children's Museum of Kansas City closed and merged with Wonderscope.

Another good list of things to do can be found on the Passport to Adventure website. (Which is finally back up, it was broken for a month!)

I didn't see the Steamboat Arabia Museum on the list (Which doesn't mean it isn't there!); it's pretty interesting for both children and adults.
