Auto Assistance

Hey everyone - I can't seem to get my car started.  I can turn the key and hear the clicks but the engine doesn't turn over.  I'm pretty sure it's the battery since it hasn't been replaced in about 4-5 years.  Problem is, I have no way to get to an auto store to pick up a new one and once I have it home, I don't have the tools to install it ( Read more... )

1. check to see if cables are tight. (you can tighenthem with your hand.
2.If the contact s are rusty clean them off with a bot of Coco Cola
3 It may be easier to find someone to give you a jump start to recharge the battery.

If you can get a neighbor to jump it for you, you can drive to an Advanced Auto Parts store and they'll test the old battery and install the new battery for you free of charge. (If you don't have an AAP near you, I'd be surprised if any of their competitors wouldn't offer the same service. Still, be sure to call ahead just in case.)

If you try what's been suggested and still get nothing, I'd be willing to give you a hand. I'm not exactly a mechanical genius, but I've had enough trouble with my cars over the years that I can give it a shot.
