Anyone know what is going on with Time Warner Cable? My cable suddenly shut off, came back on and now gives me only a message about how my box is not authorized and to call customer service.

Which has been a busy signal for twelve hours.

Anyone know what's going on?

my sister said the same thing happened to her and she shut the whole thing off and then it worked when she turned it back on. might be worth a try.

This happened to me last night about 1AM. I tried all three of the local numbers and could only get a busy signal. I tried the Live Chat option on the website, but the guys I talked to were useless because it was a cable issue. And they couldn't even tell me if it was an outage or anything. I'm glad someone finally got through.

They said the issue was an update gone snafu and to fix the problem, unplug the box from the power source, count to 100, and then plug back in. This forces a reboot and fixes the problem.

That's pretty much their solution to everything. I always try it first before calling.

geek note Always, ALWAYS rebbbot system first. If that does not work; repeat. Thenn call TWC and tell them you did that if it is still not working.

You only need to have the box unplugged for about 15 seconds. If you have an older box you can hold down the power button for a while and it will boot, you will know when that happens.

Funny thing with me, one box had this problem, the other was fine.
