"Pfft! I'm not a kid!" Goku insisted, though he said it with a grin because he knew Hakkai was joking. He ran his fingers through his hair where Hakkai had just ruffled it, feeling a bit happy for some reason.

"This big boss lady lets me do some stuff in her shop. You know, moving boxes and delivering packages and all that. She yells at me all the time, but I guess I'm doin' all right, since she hasn't fired me or anything yet," Goku said. He had experience dealing with grumpy types, after all.

As he talked, they continued on toward the village, making quick progress of it, as was typical of this world. The wooded areas had cleared up by now, and they were walking through grassy fields.

"Well, I'm glad you're doing so well for yourself, then," Hakkai said, laughing softly at the idea of Goku with a boss who yelled at him all the time.

After all, the kid never could seem to catch a break about being around temperamental types.

He looked around as they walked, trying to get a good idea of his surroundings for future reference. And for deciding just where Jeep would and wouldn't be able to carry him. He'd become a little spoiled by the transportation, after all.

"Mm, this looks like a nice enough place, pretty at least..."
