It was a little strange at first, spending time with someone who was obviously so curious about things, but unable to speak. Silence felt strange; Lenalee had felt a compulsion to fill it with her voice, even if Four could only nod or shake his head in response. But by now the silences were starting to feel a little more comfortable. While Lenalee left Four to his own devices, she did spare a glance back at him every once in a while. For such a small creature, he had a way of getting into everything.

Turning to grab the vegetables, Lenalee sighed in dismay as the red-coated table registered.

"Four, I've told you not to get into everything," she reminded him with a stern look. More clean up for later, then. She only hoped there was still enough paprika left in the package to be usable. "I can't have you in here if you're going to make a mess!"

...Oops?

Four looked down at the mess he made guiltily. In his excitement to discover everything, he had disregarded what Lenalee told him. He gave her a pleading look, he's sorry! He promised that he wouldn't do it again! Please don't be mad!

He scrambled to the edge of the table and held up both of his arms eagerly. The mess he would deal with later, but right now he wanted to see what Lenalee was doing!

Lenalee sighed-- it was difficult to keep a stern expression in place when he looked at her like that.

"You have to promise to be careful, and not touch anything if you want to come up here," she insisted. But she was already leaning over, hands cupped together to give him somewhere to sit or stand, if he was feeling adventurous. "Make sure to stay away from the stove!"

But the stove is what he wanted to look at! Four nodded happily and stepped onto her hand before scrambling up her arm and onto her shoulder. He tugged on her hair a bit to get her to turn around so that he could be closer to whatever she was doing on the stove.

He loved standing on people's shoulders! Hi was up high (but not up high enough to seriously hurt himself) and he liked to think that he was seeing things from a human point of view.
