...or, well, he didn't sleep at all, in fact. He's been lying in bed the whole time (which is basically only a few hours since cleaning took a while and all), but kept himself awake by riling himself up with thinking about how that bastard dared talk to him like that and insult his sword. It's just... not acceptable, and Kanda will see for himself that this sword is nothing to look down on. Ugh.
And by shortly before four in the morning, he slowly pushes himself out of bed, makes sure Leo is asleep and then tip-toes out of the room to get tea and something to eat because he sure as hell needs the energy. And once that's done, he's off.
He's gripping the hilt of his sword as he arrives, and glares at Kanda for the jab. Really, of course he would show up.
Snort. "Don't underestimate me. I'm not a coward."

It's more or less a bluff, albeit unintentional, as Kanda never actually bothered to find out if the Nightray brat doesn't wield some sort of divine power of his own. He merely assumes he's going to survive no matter what, so to a lesser extent, overthrow whoever faces him - no matter this was proven wrong plenty enough already.
But no, he doesn't plan anything that involves killing. If it wasn't for the brat's idiotic brothers and questionable affinities with men, Kanda would probably be... tolerant of him. Doesn't look too bad, though still naive like that fucking Beansprout. But maybe it's possible to fix.

Kanda is, though, not the only one who doesn't really think about what others are capable of. But he does know he has no idea what Kanda is capable of, he just... doesn't think it can be too bad, or impossible to fight against. Can he beat supernatural monsters or whatever, then surely he can fight some human who knows how to handle a sword.

With one swift movement, he unsheathes Mugen, though keeps it lowered for the moment - deactivated, of course; he's not some cheater like Beansprout. "Arrogance isn't." Like always, he's completely oblivious to the fact that he does it himself, because hey, then it's perfectly legit.

Elliot cannot even.
He does the same thing; unsheats his sword, but he raises it instead, and points it straight at Kanda as his eyebrow twitches a little. He just... cannot even understand that this damn bastard goes on and says something like that when... Really, how blind is this guy?
"Who the hell is the arrogant one here?! It definitely isn't me!"
Perhaps, in reality, both of them are pretty arrogant, but whatever. No need to admit that.
