[Having not noticed that someone followed him, the hand brushing against his shoulder suddenly startles Elliot and he jumps, just slightly. And seeing Alice isn't anything he expects, at all, and he stares as she starts moving to the music.

Had he been one to think more of such things, he would have perhaps thought she was beautiful. In fact, maybe he does think so and just doesn't pay that thought any mind ( ... )

[A few steps, spinning slowly, as if it's the music was moving her in time to the lilting melody, Alice practically glides over to Elliot, her hair catching his calf as she sways to a stop before him.

The blush warming his cheeks brings forth the echo of one on her own, for reasons she doesn't quite understand. But he's Oz's friend and familiar in some way that she can't recall and more importantly, he's not glaring or scowling at her, or yelling at her at all.

She's not really sure what to say to that, or what it means, or if it means he accepts her as a human or not at all..

And so she slowly, but without hesitation, reaches out to take his hand before stepping back, towards the music.

It would be nice, to not have to dance alone.]

[Even if it makes the blush deeper, Elliot lets Alice grab his hand and pull him along. It's funny, though, he has pretty much never danced with a girl. Well... In fact, he never has, if you don't count his sister while they were teaching him.

Ahem.

Because it's not all that long that he became of age in the first place and could go to more social gatherings and Gilbert and Vincent are far more popular than him. Basically, anyone who doesn't have anything against the Nightrays would simply prefer to go to them. So...

But really, he doesn't give a damn. It's one thing to dance with his sister and even that was embarrassing to him, so this... is very... even more embarrassing. Especially since Alice was the one who initiated it.

Still, he tries not to think about that as he closes his fingers around Alice's, and moves his free hand to her back. If she doesn't know how to dance, he supposes he'll just have to teach her.]

[ There’s a moment, a heartbeat where memory beats with bloodied wings along the edges of awareness, the tantalizing hint of something almost found as she curls her fingertips over Elliot’s hand and settles her palm lightly on his shoulder.

Just the hint, revealed in the unfocused glaze that steals over her eyes.

And then a blink and she’s looking up at Oz’s friend, this person he’s ignored her for, this… Elliot that also hints at the familiar in a way she can’t quite figure out, with eyes filled with an innocent confusion and an almost child-like wonder and delight, still so hopefully broken and unaware.

And then she moves.

Because where the mind forgets, the body had not, not even after a hundred years.]

[The fact that Alice can actually very much dance surprises Elliot quite a lot. Because with how she acts, it's very hard to imagine her being able to do anything even remotely close to something the more upper class people do. But here she is, keeping up with the heir of a one of the Four Duke Houses perfectly.

And despite how Elliot is still feeling a little awkward and embarrassed, still blushing, it's actually... not so bad. Even if he has never felt a particular urge to dance... Quite the opposite, really.

It's nice, in fact.

And before he knows it, there's a very slight smile on his face.]

[The smile is more encouraging than Elliot realizes, because it makes Alice think that maybe this is okay and maybe... maybe it's nice to have someone to dance with.

No - she knows it is.

His hand is warm around hers, the other gentle yet guiding at her back, and it's easy to simply let the melody and rhythm of the unusual song guide them along, to revel in this moment of camaraderie and companionship.

To realize in the light of that small smile that, for the moment, she maybe... has a friend?

The thought is enough for a brilliant smile to curve her own lips and light her eyes, banishing the ghost of the past for the new memory of the present as her fingers curl a little more around his shoulder.]

[Well, it takes a bit to be considered a friend in Elliot's eyes, but with this, well... There is definitely a possibility. Not that he'd ever admit it, but neither of them would, would they? So that's alright, hah.

The sudden smile makes Elliot blink, but he finds that... it suits her, really.

And it's contagious, so his own smile is soon back and even if he's aware of it by now, he can't really find it in him to care. It's not like there's anyone who knows him around here, anyway, aside from Alice.

So he supposes it's alright.

Why has he never wanted to dance before? He'd definitely do it again.]

[What the two blissfully ignorant dancers don't know is that there is a red eye watching them intently. Actually that isn't quite right, there was one red eye and one lens watching the two as the white haired man held the Hitomi up from the sidelines recording this precious private moment.]

My my~ Here's one sight I never thought I'd see in my lifetime.~♫♫

[Quickly covering his mouth with a fake gasp. Oh he knows what he's doing and what hornet's nest he's kicking at right now. That's why he's going to kick it harder.]

Oh dear, did I say that out loud? Well I guess I'll just go and find little Oz and Gilbert. No doubt they are somewhere spending some quality time...in pri~vate~♥♥

[Takes one final snapshot with the Hitomi to immortalize their faces before turning tail and rushing to get lost in the crowd]

GET BACK HERE YOU BASTARD CLOWN SO I CAN RIP THOSE USELESS ARMS OFF AND SHOVE THEM DOWN YOUR THROAT! IF YOU EVEN TOUCH MY MANSERVANT...!!!!

[Instant, murderous, blood-lust spikes at the sound of Break's voice, at the implication that they'd left her on purpose to be alone...

Oz wouldn't do that.

At least, not again.

Right?

Maybe a not sosmall part of her still still worries about that, fears that. It's no wonder then, that she'd fly off into a rage at that stupid man.

And fly she does - she yanks herself away from Elliot and takes off at a sprint. Yeah... not so much looking or acting like a lady anymore.]

[Elliot wouldn't admit it to anyone, but he doesn't actually really notice Break, or at least doesn't fully realise someone actually talked and whose voice it was until Alice starts screaming.

She's not alone in yanking away, because Elliot does it at the same time, but not with the intention to chase after Break but just to... save his image! Dancing with such an unlady-like girl and... oh god. If anyone from his family comes here and finds out--

They wouldn't be happy that someone like Alice got his very first dance.

Still, after the surprise passes, as if snapped from a trance, he yells;]

XERXES BREAK!

[And sprints off after Alice, practically bristling like a cat with hair and bared teeth and all.]

There was no touching involved. I just happened to catch a glimpse, nothing more~

[Laughing as he skillfully navigates his way through the crowd. No matter how much she pushed or shoved Alice would be slower.]

[And then came the other party's battle cry. Oh this is just too much fun.]

That's my name. Do make an effort to not wear it out~

[Laughing once more as he moves to walk behind one of the stands]

[Oh yes, Alice is now in quite the lovely rage as she tears off after him. And if she had a mind to pay attention, she would note the looks of alarm directed her way as she snarls and kicks her useless sandals off, accidentally smacking them right into some nameless person's face.

And so what if she bunches the silken material into fists, hiking it up most improperly so she can run all the faster?]

Get back here so I can choke you on your damned sucker, you bastard!

Now what kind of dimwitted fool would I have to be to listen to that demand~?

[BRB just dived behind a stall and climbed under the counter startling the vendor as he just watches the white haired man vanish inside that incredibly small space.]

Get back here and fight like a man, coward!

[Not only does the annoying clown decide to interrupt like that, but to just run from the consequences of his stupid actions-- Goddamn. Piece of. Shit.

He hates you so much, Break. So much.]

[Meanwhile Gilbert is peacefully making his way through the crowd, Oz somewhere around, when a bunch of familiar voices reach his ears.]

[Huh? Are they at it again?]

[He's still confused and not quite expecting anything out of the ordinary, when he's suddenly being shoved away --]

Hey!
