MIZUSATO SAKURA MATSURI
Week 21, Day 4 - Week 21, Day 5 (April 6-11)

Petals bloom, unfurling on whispering winds, bringing the joy of life renewed across the lands. Spring has arrived in Kannagara, and with it, Konohanasakuya-hime's joy in seeing new life unfurl its delicate strength. Now is the time we in Mizusato rejoice in the goddess’ blessing, for Konohanasakuya-hime has awakened the Spring for us all to enjoy. With her gentle hands, she has brought us a time for new beginnings, so if you would embrace this chance, then join the revelry in Mizusato as the village proudly brings you the traditional Sakura Festival!

For Week 21, days 4 and 5, there will be an optional Sakura Festival in Mizusato, complete with sakura viewing areas between the beach and the village. In almost every village anywhere, this will be the high point of talk between traders and gossip in the street -- everyone will know about it because it's a good season for foreign merchants.

In the opening post for the event, it will be announced that the Elders of Mizusato have approved the construction of a ryokan for other-worlders and are looking for construction volunteers. Mizusato has decided to make their cooperation with other-worlders officially public, openly showing their support in light of the terrible incidents that occurred on the mainland in the past few weeks!

The entire city will be decked in lanterns that depict the shape of sakura blossoms; these will be found hanging outside homes and establishments, all of which will be illuminated at night. Here, traders will be visible selling their goods during the mornings, especially those from other villages dealing in cloth and jewelry. Which definitely means that it won't be an uncommon sight to find the citizens of Mizusato in their yukata and enjoying the festivities -- food stalls, games, plays situated around the square organized by children and the council, flute and drums and shamisen music! You name it, it's there!

What can your characters do?

Anything they want- threadjacking is encouraged, and so is time-paradoxing!. Sub-threads will be provided but players are encouraged to create their own scenarios. For example, under the game threads, players are encouraged to start threads with HEADERS IN CAPS saying, RING TOSS. Be creative! Remember, this is a good opportunity for CR!

Time events!

Day 4 - The opening ceremony will take place at 4 PM in the middle of the square by the head of council of Mizusato. The festivities will then begin right after his speech with a taiko drums performance.

Day 5 - The closing of the festivities will begin at 8 PM, when the fireworks will illuminate the skies of Mizusato for ten minutes over the shoreline. This will be a grand display to the point that people outside the area of Mizusato might just hear and perhaps even catch a glimpse of it if they're lucky!

Throughout the festivities, lanterns will be hung on wooden poles above the water in the shallow areas of the shoreline. Music will be played at all times and festivities can play out till midnight and start again as early as noon again! Food and games will be constant!

Enjoy the festivities, people of Mizusato and her guests!
