[Yoite tucked a small package into his pocket, his birthday present for Lelouch. It wasn't much of course, and Yoite had had no idea what on Earth (or in Kannagara for that matter) someone gave for a birthday but he had done his best.
Turning then to gather up Bani-Allen, he exited his shrine and headed out towards the usual path he took when traveling to Raikou's cave. When Allen shifted nervously on his shoulder he gave an apologetic look. The rabbit still needed to get used to a much higher perch than before. But Yoite's reflexes were still fast as ever, so he would be certain that his companion would not fall.
Finally making it down the mountainside to the flatter slope to the beach, Yoite drew nearer to where he could see Gau and Raikou, only coming to stop, eyes wide, when he saw not just a cake, but also tables, and food.... for A LOT OF PEOPLE]
[Of course, Gau's attention is immediately caught as his friend appears. He jumps up and runs, sets the drinks he's carrying down on the table, and runs up to sweep his friend up in a hug.
Habit has him picking Yoite up a little, though it's quite a bit more difficult now than when his friend was short, and he laughs as he sets the taller boy back on his feet.]
[Yoite's cheeks flame brightly and he thanks the gods for the brim of his hat there to hide most of it as Gau does his best to lift him. And when he is on his feet again he smiles softly]
Arigatou, Gau-san.
[He looks around at all the food, stomach growling but he looks bashful]
Did you have to make all this? [He knows the answer. He does, considering Raikou would have never done it himself, but still, being so close to Gau..given everything thats happened between them...and everything that he wants to happen ahead of them...well he's not quite sure what else to say. But, even if all of those feelings of the heart are to be kept inside now, save for the ones for a best friend and his "mama", he can still marvel at Gau's hard work, can he not?]
[Iroh hadn't been exactly sure what to get for presents, but he had brought two, tucked under his arm, as well as a pot of soup and a bundle of tea. He would have to reheat the soup after the walk, but that would not take much.]
[Gau's excited that someone showed up, outside of the guests of honor, of course, and he runs up to greet Iroh with a huge grin on his face. Then, of course, he remembers his manners, and bows low before speaking again.]
Let me help you with those things, Iroh-san! It's so good to see you!
[He reaches for the older man's burdens with all the enthusiasm of the young.]
I've got tables set up over here for the food, and I have no idea what else Raikou wants to do, but I got everything prepared as well as I could!
[Gau smiles, steps toward the tables with the food, then nods his head toward a smaller table.]
Gifts are over there. I put signs on the table for whose...
[And there are only two signs on the table, because Raikou has made it clear the party is for Yoite and Lelouch. Gau will give Raikou his own gift later, to celebrate the birthday he's sharing with Yoite.]
Thanks so much for bringing something, Iroh-san! That's very sweet of you!
[So Raikou has officially invited Rin to this party. And Rin has made clear her intention to come, so it wouldn't do not to follow up on that promise, right? Even though she is not coming alone. No, she has mentioned it to Marco, and he agreed to accompany her. They arrive together at the location.
Rin draws a deep breath and fidgets around with the cloth in her fingers, which is wrapped around a wooden box containing a variety of treats for all the participants to enjoy. She promised that too, after all.
[Marco is a party guy. He loves parties. He lives for parties. Even for the ones where all you do is eat chips and cookies on your desks in school he thrives for. He's a party animal.
So like any other teenager invited to a birthday party, he doesn't bother bringing in gifts.
He brings alcohol, like any sane person should. It's not like there are laws against that here. (One of the upsides of this place.) He walks aside with Rin, his own offers in tow.]
[Raikou glances up at the latest arrivals and smiles at them both. Quick strides bring him over to stand nefore them both, where he offer a polite bow then reaches for both the food containers and the alcohol.]
Here let me take those for you, Rin-chan, Marco-kun.
[A pause and a laugh before he winks at them both.]
It's been a while since I've see you, but I'm glad you've both come! Though I agree...the lack of a stereo sucks, for lack of a better word.
[He waves behind his, a bit vaguely and shrugs a shoulder.]
Lelouch, Yoite, and Gau are around here somewhere, but I'm sure you'll find them easy enough.
[When Allen arrives, you know, he thought he might be by himself.
After all, none of his friends at the Order seemed that close, as far as he knows, with Lelouch, Yoite, Gau, or Raikou. And... Raikou had killed him... accidentally maybe, but...
Well. Allen lets that bloodstained water pass under the bridge because he has to for his own mentality if nothing else, but it's obvious others still carry a grudge. He can't blame them, but...
It's a saddening grudge.
But perhaps a little oddly for people that know him, he's not wearing his uniform jacket. Cloak against the cold, yes, but a clean shirt that looks pressed but probably isn't, and the best version of a tie he can manage/wheedle.
His hand does brush on approach, though, against a pouch on his belt. A whim, really. But one he feels okay with. But he is, above and beyond everything, smiling and honestly looking lighthearted because... well, he is
( ... )
[No, Lavi doesn't know Lelouch and doesn't particularly care much for Yoite, but he knows Gau cares a lot for Yoite so he figures Gau will be there, and he does care about him. And he's Lavi and Lavi generally loves parties, so he has no real reason not to go.
So he goes, and just for the hell of it he makes sure to drag Yu along too because hey, Yu knows Gau too, and Raikou, who cares if he likes them or not. He might as well come, Lavi thinks~
It's true that he holds a grudge towards Raikou, but somehow it's just not as strong as before anymore and he could probably even try not to act bitter for the sake of the mood, and Gau and, well, the birthday people. There's no harm in that, really... If anything, he's more neutral towards Raikou nowadays than bitter.
Somehow... It's a bit strange. Maybe because Raikou isn't a bad person, everything considered, and... well...
Such.]
Whoa.
[All of the food... It's a little more than he expected, really. How many were coming exactly? Hah.]
[No, Kanda really has no idea how the hell Lavi is one to have the magical power to drag him out into people. He'd blame the fact that Lavi had died recently and therefore should be treated a little more nicely for a while; unfortunately, it has been happening long before that.]
[So here he is. And he honestly has no fucking clue what he's doing here. He hates birthdays, hates those people, hates this -- on a second thought, the place is rather nice. It almost cancels out the horror of the company.]
[He's just going to... keep near Lavi for now, then, both because he really doesn't like gatherings and because the redhead was the one who dragged him here so he might as well entertain him or something.]
[Raikou glances up in time to see the latest arrivals, then looks around for Gau. When he spots him, he sees his younger partner talking to Yoite and a few others so rather than disturb him, Raikou steps over to the three Exorcists and gives them a polite bow, a touch formal.
Proper.
But he's smiling an almost gentle smile, welcoming as he straightens once again.]
Of course you're not too late. Welcome back to our place, Allen-san, Lavi-san...Kanda-kun. [He couldn't help it. He just couldn't.]
I'm glad its under better circumstances, this time though. I trust your trip over was uneventful?
Yay! throw a party then HIDE!pinktintedgamonDecember 31 2010, 15:38:07 UTC
[It hadn't been all that difficult to get the party organized or set up - Gau had far outdone himself with all of the food he'd prepared. But in truth - he preferred to have a few drinks and dinner with a good friend or two, maybe a pizza (oh how he actually missed pizza), and one of Gau's lovely desserts.
Thus, once he found himself alone for a moment, he did what any sane person would do - slipped off to go sit at the edge of a pool, his yukata pulled up neatly over his thighs, legs dangling in the cool water of one of the pools.

Well, I didn't know how many people were coming! I do wish I'd had more warning, but I did the best I could. Oh but...
[And he steps forward, pulling Yoite along with him, cuts a BIG piece of the special cake he's made for his friend.]
You have to have this first! Before anyone else gets any... it's the special vanilla kind you like!

Ah, that's all right! Just show me where the food should go.
[She takes another look around the premises.]
It's good to see you all again! I hope to be catching the others at one point or another.
[If only because she would like to ask Gau a few questions. As she thinks Marco may want to, but she doesn't now. He's not always easily readable.]
