[ Akira has no idea what to expect. Mitarashi-san, like most everyone in Konoha, is a total stranger to him. But for the sake of trying to get along for this whole 'teamwork' thing he's trying out, he decides he'll hear her out. Or at least tell her he already understands the concepts of puberty and sex (well... he mostly understands sex, at least he understands that he doesn't want to think about it yes he does like all the time no he doesn't) so she really doesn't need to explain to him like some kinda... creepy health teacher.
The dango smells good. That at least brings a little bit of a smile to his face. He raises a hand to wave to her. ]
[ Anko pushes the second plate towards him. In person, Akira's a lot more petite than he seemed over Hitomi, almost effeminate.
But he's kind of a cute kid, really.
She pats the road next to her (not too close to her, but still an invite)--]
Go ahead, sit down. I made you some dango.
[ Anko purposefully chose to talk to Akira outside. So that if he feels uncomfortable, he can leave. Anko might chase him down, still, but at least he wouldn't feel trapped into a conversation he wasn't ready for. ]
[ Akira's understandably guarded, arms crossed over chest, but he remembers again that he's trying to fit in with the people of Konoha. Mitarashi is one of those people, so after a moment of silent hesitation, he sits next to her a little further away than she indicated, and picks up a stick of dango. He mumbles his reply to her. ]
[ Anko looks up at the sky and sucks the last bit of food off her skewer. Then she chews the skewer, letting it stick out of the corner of her mouth. ]
You know, Akira...
[ She sighs. ]
When I was your age [ glances, amends ], maybe a little younger, I didn't have a good family life. My mother died in a war when I was six, and my father took to drinking. I didn't have anybody to look up to for a long time.
Then I was assigned to a team, and my sensei...
[ She chews harder on the skewer. ]
My sensei was a war hero. And I loved him. He was like a father to me.
[ Akira finishes his dango while she's talking, listening and for the most part paying attention. Everyone has a sad story here, and while he won't admit it, he can relate to feeling distant from his parents. Neither of them were particularly affectionate of him, though he thinks the world of his father for his discipline and strength, and making him the man he is today.
He throws his dango stick with a precise flick and it embeds itself in the nearby dirt. It's good he has nothing in his hand or mouth she she finishes her little story. ]
W-wait. I'm not in love with Kakashi-san! [ He's quick to stammer out. ]
