Lavi had been sticking around his and Yu's house more than he had ever since Yu left ever since Yu had that dream. He didn't know if Yu would actually come back after all. Yu had only sounded like he would come back, and while that probably meant he would, Lavi wasn't entirely sure about that. The rabbit seemed happy about it, really.

And it was early morning as he paced about on his room as the rabbit hopped around on the floor, nearly tripping him a few times like it liked doing to Yu, when he heard the door open. He perked up, almost tensing a little, and then there was a voice.

And as frustrated as he felt about everything, he suddenly felt warm at hearing that voice not over the Hitomi for once, again. So he smiled widely, jumped over the rabbit, and sort of skid into the hall. Yu still looked tired and weary, and even more so like this up close. It suddenly felt a bit surreal somehow, that so soon after Yu had left he was back because it had almost seemed like it would be so much longer. And even so it felt long somehow... It ( ... )

Maybe it wasn't long, but it sort of felt like ages for Kanda, and yes, that could be seen on him, somewhat.

His expression eased - what probably equaled lighting up for simple mortals - at the sight of Lavi, and even the rabbit, and he stopped.

But didn't say anything.

Because somehow, he could feel Lavi was still somewhat conflicted, as otherwise he would have draped himself over him or something, not that he wanted nor expected it, since, after all, shit happened. It did even if he pretended it didn't, and.. it made sense.

But it was still good to see them face to face like this.

He shrugged a little as if saying 'well, I'm back' or something, frowning a bit again in some sort of a mildly tired way and glancing sideways and downwards, because he honestly had no idea what else to say.

He was here.

The rabbit jumped right after Lavi, ears perked as high as they could as it stopped in front of Yu and placed its front paws on top of his foot, looking up at him and nose twitching ( ... )

Kanda frowned a little, but didn't seem to be inclined to do anything to anger Lavi, not yet at least. "Same to you," he muttered quietly, his cheek twitching a little as that obviously wasn't something he'd like saying.

His gaze shifted down and eventually stopped on the rabbit, and he made a soft "tch" sound, leaning his head down a bit.

"What do you want?" he grumbled, dammit it felt almost like he missed this little thing and that was fucking wrong and not something he did, damn Lavi and his parallels to rabbits and this rabbit acting all too much like Lavi for good all the time they've shared this roof, blast. "Like my smell or something?"

The rabbit tilted its head, then shook it as it put its paws back down on the floor. Instead, it pushed its nose against Yu's foot, and then limply flopped down onto its side.

Lavi snorted a little and crossed his arms, shifting on his feet. "Think he does," he said, with amusement but still blankly somehow. "Maybe. But I said he missed ya, didn't I?"

Or it was just missing someone to trip. It didn't have much luck with him. Hah.
