[Katsuya has gone to investigate the others if his own is there. It is initially on audio, but it changes after he finishes watching the dream, and realizes he's a little too misty to sound pleasant...

[Jushiro doesn't know how to type; his world is not a very advanced one, technologically speaking. So he uses audio, and his voice catches the first several times he tries to speak. Shunsui is his very dearest and closest friend and he knows this dream is full of insecurities he ought not to have, because Shunsui would never say those things, never speak as if Ukitake were purposely callous about his own condition...]
...Yes, I know...
H-he...he's not like that. Please don't think ill of him because of this. [That last sentence is a bit mumbled.]
Our subconscious is a mysterious place, and all sorts of things haunt the interior. There is no reason to feel ill towards someone for a manifestation of things that lurk beyond their control.

Th-thank you...
[His voice cracks a little bit as he speaks because he doesn't know what to say. His eyes are burning with unshed tears, as in this reality, as opposed to the dream, he has not been stripped of the ability to cry.
Somehow though--perhaps it is his pride as a captain, or the instincts that cause him to be the figure of support and reassurance to others (like this man he has just now met through this network of dreams, who is human and thus obviously much younger than him)--he cannot cry in front of this man so instead there are soft sounds as he takes several deep breaths and tries to calm himself.]
[He hadn't planned on answering to this. Hadn't planned on viewing it on the first place. He really wasn't sure what to make of his first dream-viewing experience.]
[He doesn't see this until the morning, as he went back to sleep after his conversation with Katsuya, but even when he does...
There's a long pause before he answers...
Because he's not sure what to say. What would be appropriate to say. This boy's reaction appears to be one of confusion, perhaps surprise...what can one really say to a comment like that?]
[More of a statement than a question. A command more than actual inquiry. He had, after all, very little respect for humans, if any at all. That's what he assumed Ukitake to be. What he assumed every other being to be. The concept of being in another world had yet to be seriously considered by Kadaj.]
[How...how does one answer that question? Kadaj viewed--felt as well, probably--everything that he had. A simple explanation was useless, but what more was there to say? What was his dream anyway? A representation of his insecurities? A glimpse into his fears and misgivings?
Neither of those answers seems appropriate, so he gives the most obvious answer, and the most useless.]
A dream. [and a little more gently] I apologize if you were troubled by it.

It seems all of us have left someone behind.

But perhaps it is for the best. We do not yet know much of this place; it might be more dangerous than its peaceful appearance lets on.
At least our friends and loved ones are in familiar territory, at home.
