[Lenalee flips through the videos she's missed while in "cat-mode" idly, trying to distract herself from the growing sense of dread bubbling through her. They should have been back by now. That wasn't so odd, with how chatty Lavi is, and the nightmare no doubt has no doubt made her paranoid. But it's been too long.
She looks with some distraction as a new video pops up, but ignores it for the time being. Bottom to top, making sure she hasn't missed anything first. It isn't until several minutes later that she finally clicks Gau's plea for help. She stares at it open mouthed, barely comprehending it. Gau... she didn't know the boy well, but this... she's never seen anything like this over the network before. When was it sent? She's almost certainly too late. Could that be... of course Allen would go to help. If this is recent, that is. Hands shaking, she continues on to the latest video.]

[The view jerks around so much that it takes her a while to realize what she's looking at. A yard, and then a boy she barely recognizes- Wait, is he- and Gau too. Yes, they are. She's seen enough dead bodies to tell. And this she knows that this is recent. Allen must have- There's a kitten with strange markings and pink hair (it sticks out at her for a moment, a flash from her dream of pink fur), and then-
A strangled half-cry makes its way out of her as she watches the sword descend too quickly, catching him off guard because he would never expect someone to just turn on him like that, and there’s too much blood. She clutches her golem too tightly and is unable to look away or even think, because Allen- Allen is-
This isn't a dream.
It isn't hers or anyone else’s. This is really happening, has really happened.]
[Reaction 3/4]nec_metuAugust 13 2010, 05:38:57 UTC
[She barely notices Lavi, or anything but the jumpy picture of his body, Allen's body as he falls, and then- There's a faint glimmer of hope, despite part of her saying that she should know better. He's still alive. She knows that there's too much blood, that that wound is fatal, but he's still alive and it's Allen, and he's always okay somehow-
But he isn't. Something in the back of her mind notices that his vocal chords have been cut (pressing his hand to his throat then to her mouth, can't speak). But the rest of her watches transfixed as hands that are too tiny to do any good slap uselessly at his face. He looks at the screen, and something in her breaks.
How can he look so sorry, when he's the one that's...
Not dying. Dead. The screen goes black and for every blinded, hopeful part of her she knows that he's dead.
It occurs to her that she should probably be crying. Allen is dead, and she just watched it all happen. She’s cried over less. And she really would, but even seeing it and knowing it can’t make her truly believe it,

Allen.
[It takes her a moment to realize that the raspy voice is hers. And then her eyes are prickling, as if a spell has been broken and the world is suddenly turning again. She turns to glance to her side, looking at Kanda with an expression that is pure desperation and help, please, she doesn’t know what to do.]
Kanda, he- Allen-
[The tears are rolling down her cheeks now, and she can’t talk right for the too quick breaths and the suffocating feeling in her chest because Allen is dead. She wails at that, and doesn’t care that Kanda hears it.]
He’s- What should we-
[She can’t even articulate it, trailing off into a broken sob. Just please, please tell her what to do.]

[Another loud bang punctures the jungle air and the tiger collapses to the floor as if it's strings have been cut. A red jewel in it's forehead blooms into something akin to a parasitic flower. The shot was an instant kill and Heine rolls his sleeves up for the messy task of gutting the animal.]
[that is when the hitomi reacts to a new post on the network. For some strange reason Heine decides he can look at it before getting the money from the bowels of the beast. His expression is one of complete boredom as if doing someone a favor. ]
Huh? a Video? From the kid?
[Heine opens the video...what the hell? The video shows an aerial perspective. Was the lil' scar getting carried around by his girl again. Sheesh that kid has no dignity. Letting himself get carried by a....wait! he's down there!]
[that's when he sees the bodies and the far too familiar sight of blood. The hell is going on? It looks like a freakin warzone. And is that a fuckin cat in the middle? Who the hell painted all that shit on it? And why the hell is the kid

[...it happened so quick. The kid probably never saw it. Heine's eyes widen a fair margin as the blade kisses Allen's throat and leaves it's deadly mark accompanied by the spray of blood. Shit that's- that's a certain kill wound. That pink haired guy knew his stuff well

[The beginning of the video isn't anything special, really. Cross does wonder why Timcanpy is spazzing like that even if to him it looks like there isn't really anything to worry about. It's just Allen being himself and an idiot and jumping into danger, maybe where he doesn't really have anything to do with it, and that's just normal with that brat.
Then, there's the flash of a sword and all of a sudden blood spurts from Allen's throat. Cross's brain makes a quick note that Bookman's kid's there too, before...]

[...before it hits him. That pink-haired guy just cut open Allen's throat. And the kid hadn't seen it coming, looked like he just couldn't believe it. That must be why it even hit in the first place; because he didn't think it would happen.
...damn idiot, who do you always do that? Always jumping in front of those no one cares about and get yourself in trouble. Just because you're so damn full of love and care that it's almost suffocating and unbelievable but it's really there. How the hell does it fit in such a small body anyway? And someone who cares and loves so much shouldn't be the end who ends up like this, but yet they're the ones that do simply because they care and love so much.
It's just so damn unfair.
Cross thinks Allen's care is stupid, he really does, but that doesn't mean that it's wrong, just fucked up and something no one else can understand because they're not like that, and they haven't seen, and they view things so differently because to them enemies are just enemies while to Allen they're pitiful beings that

[...and this is because of those damn gods. This is because those damn gods seem to think they can do whatever they want with people and pull them here and toy with them and...
This... this isn't where Allen should be, none of them should, so what are they doing here? Even if they're still back at their world, who knows, it's still not... it's still not right and just because those gods pull people here they cause pain and suffering when people freaking have enough of that in their own worlds and lives, thank you very much.
Pain makes you grow and makes you stronger, if you don't give up and kill yourself or just die from sorrow, but that doesn't give the "gods" any right to pull people here and let them experience such shit in a world that isn't their own.
[Jack stares at the screen, not quite believing his eyes. Cross' student and Dre's friend, wasn't he? This boy.. jumping in between like that. And.. killed. This is really shocking
( ... )
[He doesn't recognize most of the people caught by the video, but the one that he does makes his blood freeze.
Marco. Dead, dead, but he'd told him that you can't really die in this place. But no, he'd said you don't die permanently here, but that assurance doesn't take away from the horror of seeing that young face, nearly decapitated from a Hork Bajir's body. Probably a morph of one of the freed Hork Bajir on Earth, the ones that Marco had told him about. His thoughts dart about, trying to latch onto anything other than the fact that this young man, this child that he felt such tremendous responsibility for, is dead.
Elfangor wishes desperately that he hadn't chosen to be in human form while looking through the videos. Bile catches in his constricting throat, his skin feels too tight, and there's a horrible pressure building behind his eyes.
The rest of the video... the vision of blood and gore brings back the memories of the single time he'd morphed a Taxxon, and oh, god, he actually wants to sick up at the thought of a Taxxon's
