[Matt has heard Tobias describe this, very briefly, little but the bare facts of it, and that's nothing to feeling it himself through the dream.
Seesawing sickeningly between the panic of being stuck, stuck, and about to die--both of them fears Matt carries himself (he can still see, sometimes, the muzzles of all those guns trained on him)--and the comfort of being in a place where you belong, when you thought it was impossible to belong anywhere at all. It would be enough to drive anyone mad.
Matt shakes off the tatters of the dream, tries to draw the line between what was real in the broadcast and what wasn't.]
[Tobias appears upside down, and more of his chest and a sofa is showing than anything.] Uh... I'm... uh. No.
[He reaches up, rubbing at his head a little.] I think she was gonna eat me. I dunno where I am, but... morphing still heals you here, right? 'Cause I think I broke a wing. [He moves an arm around a bit, as if he can still feel the injury.]
[Video -- and the one before was supposed to be video, too. ._.;]bluetailedhawkNovember 18 2011, 03:23:05 UTC
[Tobias still appears upside-down as he looks over his shoulder, as if not entirely sure if he could trust the people around him.] The crazy chick. [He mutters it, looking back at the Hitomi.]
I didn't exactly ask for her name, I just wanted her to not eat me. I woke up on a freaking cutting board.
Uh.... on her... couch. [Wise choices, he is full of them. He scratches his head, messing his hair up a bit.] But she's not trying to eat me anymore. [Small consolation. He eyes something or someone off-screen.]
[The dream leaves Elfangor distinctly unsettled, as though he's swallowed needles and they are churning in his stomach. Is this... a memory? Is this why Tobias thought he must be dead back in their world? So much suffering, and made all the worse, all the more sharp and flaying for contrasting with pleasant memories.
(A flicker of something warm and bittersweet, that even in that brief moment when they met in that world, his son had felt something, had recognized him in some way.)
Is this why he was so certain that he must be dead? Because the prospect of going back to that was unbearable?
He won't mention it again, Elfangor silently vows. Let Tobias believe what he needs to in order to... in order to survive.
--But then he overhears the conversation between Tobias and Matt, and that mention of nearly being eaten sends him catapulting into full alert. He will henceforth be lurking over Matt's shoulder to find out who he needs to stick some tail blade to for this grievous offense
( ... )
[Have a blank stare.] I don't know. Probably not. I woke up in a panic and face-planted into someone's door. [He rubs his mouth a little, grimacing.] I think I broke my beak. Again. Just look for the door with a bird-shape in it. [All the dry humor, ever. He's been around Ax for way too long.
Even so, he's very much a boy right now, so very little of this makes sense. Maybe the concussion really did carry over to his human form.]
[She might not be trying to eat you right now, but Elfangor certainly does not trust this to last. Considering his own issues with being eaten alive multiple times, his believes this concern to be entirely warranted.]

[Wait a minute, did he just say what Matt thinks he said?]
Who was going to eat you?

[Is he still in the place with the door he crashed into and the person who was just trying to eat him? Really, Tobias?]
Send me your coordinates.
[If nothing else, it'll stop Elfangor from trying to call out the Kannagara equivalent of the SWAT team.]

And how? [The Hitomi turns sideways as Tobias looks for something labeled 'coordinates'.]
