[OOC: No warnings for the dream itself, but will update with warnings for threads if appropriate. Edit: Mayuri's thread contains Mayuri being...Mayuri.]
[ Hyakurin doesn't know what a lot of those things are, has come to know and understand that there are people from different walks of life with different ways of entertainment, but it is quite clear what this is about.
Approval. Acceptance. Patience. Love, even.
Hyakurin sits against the wall, head bowed and hair falling around her. She doesn't know, really, the relationship these two have. She picks around with the network occasionally, but, for the most part, keeps to herself. But she knows... she knows what a child, another human being, will do for attention. For their father or their sensei or the person they respect the most to look at them and say something so simple, like 'good job'.
Is that how her little boy would have felt if his father had said one word of real praise to him...? If his father had been patient enough to teach--
She shakes her head. Don't think about it.She knows that won't make those visions go away, that it won't bring back what's been taken, but those words are what keeps her standing, in that moment,
( ... )
[It's a few minutes before Nemu answers. By the time she does, it looks like she's outside, and there are fresh marks, scrapes and the beginnings of bruises, visible on her face where Mayuri-sama had tossed her into a wall. She also seems to be breathing a little hard, as if she'd been running
( ... )
[ Hyakurin frowns into the Hitomi, eyes appraising. What's wrong, she wonders? What happened? Not because she thinks that someone wouldn't find it foolish, but because her breathing and the mere tone of her voice warn that there's more to this that she does not quite grasp. ]
[Her voice is monotone, but there's a listlessness to it, almost a despairing sound. She wonders what will happen now. If Mayuri-sama will take her back or cast her out for being too flawed. Or decide to disassemble her and start over from scratch, as she'd seen him do many times before.]
Mayuri-sama was angry because I am weak, that is all.
[And she was weak. She should not imagine such unscientific things. Places like the ones she dreamed about--'amusement parks' they were called--were unnecessary and frivolous. Why should Mayuri-sama spend his time on her amusement? Why would he give her a 'balloon', which served no purpose other than to be decorative? And besides, she had not deserved his attention or any reward at all. He only punished her because it was necessary to punish her.]

[ ... you got a funny way of speaking, girl.
But she's more put off about something else. What the hell does he know? she thinks. Weak? Weak about what? Physically? She's used to that sort of thing--she can't help but be reminded. Surrounded by swordsmen, unable to kill a man because she lacks the upper-body strength. It's all young girls who aspire to be more than housewives hear.
But she doesn't think that's it at all. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but the timing seems odd. And that might be what makes Hyakurin more pissed off than concerned.
Weak? What, because of a dream?
[ She almost wishes she'd tell her that she dropped a teapot or something. Doesn't excuse it, no, but it sure sounds a bit better than what Hyakurin's thinking. ]
[Sometimes, Nemu wonders if somehow, she damaged her brain at some point. She often does not understand others, and she cannot always seem to explain what seems clear to her.]
Yes. It is a sign of weakness to desire such frivolous things. Additionally, I had been ordered to stay awake for two weeks as punishment, and it had only been eight days.
[If truth is to be told, she is still experiencing symptoms of fatigue; she has heavy, dark bags under her bloodshot eyes, and she is shaky as well. The short nap she had was not enough to be truly restful, even if it hadn't been interrupted by Mayuri-sama.]
[ Where can she find this guy? If there was ever a man who deserved a poison dart between his eyes, this was the one. ]
Eight days? [ Hell, staying up for two puts her in a bad mood and she wouldn't make it eight. And that he expected her to stay up longer is... he's a bastard, this one. People like him... ]
There's nothin' weak about it. [ It's all right to want those things, all right to expect them. That's what parents should do, what they should be like. Is it really so wrong to be human beings to each other? ]
Come on, hun. You need a nice comfortable place to sleep. Where are you?
[She nods in response to the query about the number of days.] I was created to be extremely durable. However, the longest I have previously stayed awake was five days.
[She doesn't attempt to argue with the woman that her dream had been weak. She knew it was, but other people rarely understood that Mayuri-sama was right.]
I am in Yomisato. [In an alley, it appears from the way the buildings stretch out behind her.]
[She knows that she should argue, and tell the woman she does not need to sleep, somewhere comfortable or otherwise. However, Mayuri-sama has thrown her out for now, and although she is strong, she is aware that Yomisato has many hazards. It would be difficult to be on her guard all the time when she is so fatigued.]
[ Created...? Now wait just a minute. Is that how he 'justified' his actions? A real winner. ]
Yomisato, huh? [ She takes a moment, looks at the map and frowns. Better grab Burafuma, then... that place, so far as she knows, ain't so friendly. She couldn't leave the poor girl in such a place, even if it isn't the best idea for her to go alone. ]
You know what? How about I come get you and take you someplace safe? There's a place in Mizusato. It's pretty friendly to us outsiders.
[She hesitates for a long time. Mayuri-sama sent her away, but he might order her to come back. However, with flash-step, she could return quickly if he did.]
You have no reason to be kind to me. [It's not an accusation; she sounds confused, and perhaps a little wary. No one has any reason to be kind to her. She did not have a real soul, and no one would want her except Mayuri-sama. It makes no sense for this woman she doesn't know to help her.]
[Mayuri-sama might not appreciate her leaving with someone other than him. However, she did not know what else she could do, and he was already angry with her.
She frowns slightly.] However, this is not a safe place. You would be in danger if you came here.
