A Very Delicately-Spoilerish Question

Okay, I downloaded the new season of Doctor Who.  With a huge sci-fi convention coming up here on Thursday, there's no way I was going to go into it without being caught up.  Odds are there would be discussion of the new season in at least one of the panels I would be attending.

I have watched the first two episodes (The Impossible Astronaut and Day ( Read more... )

Current Rory is definitely human, not plastic. If I recall correctly, the doctor believed when the alliance used amy's memories to create the pandorica situation, they "got more than they bargained for" and brought back his soul (i'm not 100% certain about that, it was still a little fuzzy). Basically it all boils down to is Amy is supposed to be super special and her memories allowed the non-existent people to be brought back when the universe was rebooted, ie if she could remember them, they clearly existed, so the time field was rendered null, or something to that effect. Not to get spoilerly but other stuff you touched on is addressed in the rest of this season. Enjoy watching, episode 4 is particularly fantastic, possibly my favorite episode ever.

I REFUSE to believe Rory is not Rory! Jury is out on Dr. Who though....Oh and River is the bouncing baby girl. Or maybe not..., well maybe...no scratch that. Not sure.

Rory is definitely human. He, like the Doctor, River (even though by TIA it hasn't happened for her yet) and Amy can remember the events of The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang.

Yeah, and that's where my confusion sits. Amy, the Doctor, and River can remember because they were there, but Rory wasn't there, an Auton replica of himself was. But I suppose if reality was rebuilt on Amy's suppressed memories, then it would make sense, at least, that he'd remember being there. But remembering the 2000 years that he guarded her is a bit confusing. Ah, well, I'm just going to go with it.
