Watch

Confession: I have only read Watchmen once.

Yes, I know, I should turn in my nerd cred right now, but its true. I bought it ten years ago, read it, was confused fairly often as I read it, then proceeded to loan it out to numerous people and NEVER SAW IT AGAIN.

Seriously. No clue where it went. I've asked four different people if I gave it to them ( Read more... )

If the novel, and posting it didn't cost so much (or if it was like 3 weeks ago when I had money, it could so be for your birthday :P

My copy of Watchmen is in a box in the garage somewhere. But you can't have it. :-)

I've seen a couple of LJ entries saying it's a wonderful movie, but they are fanboys. I've also read one person on my flist panning it, saying it's terrible, being full of excessive violence, blood, gore and silly sex, and in fact suffers from being so absolutely faithful to the original comic.

In the last couple of months, something was nagging at the back of my mind -- hmm... I think I have the Watchmen comics. I went looking, and sure enough, I have issues 5, 10, 11 and 12. I bought them when they first came out. I never read them, since I didn't have the first ones. So now I'll be checking out the local comic book stores, to see if they have them. Probably not, but what the heck. According to my records, I have number 1 as well, but I haven't found that one yet.

I'm planning on seeing the movie Monday -- tomorrow, that is.

Yeah, if you have Watchmen #1, FIND IT. You might be able to get some decent money while its so relevant.

I went to see this last night in IMAX (so, huge screen, sternum rattling base, etc). I hadn't read the book, and had no idea about the plot.
I LOVED the movie. It was very gripping and realistic. Some things made me grimace, others made me want to cry.
I was able to figure everything out from the movie, so I don't feel like I really missed anything plot wise. I was a little confused at first, but I sorted out what was going on by the else.
All in all, I was very satisfied with the quality of the movie.

IMAX... Lord, I want to see it there. We were matinee, since me and my buddy are both broke-ish.

What's really distrurbing..., I recognised to voice for Bubastis from that clip. The same voice did Beastly in Care Bears. And I'm now gonna be singing the care bears theme tune when I watch Watchmen...
