What I've been up to...

Friday I took off from work. It was the first day off I'd had in a long time where I wasn't sick or stuck in the house due to bad weather. While I tend to hoard my vacation days for travel and Christmas, every so often I just need one. I'd been getting serious "I don't want to be here" feelings starting to build up, and the solution for those is ( Read more... )

We bought two copies of Layton this weekend. We were up till almost 1 a.m. Saturday night with it, and I think I spent at least six hours with it yesterday (and stayed up past midnight with it again). It is fantastic.

You know, I was going to ask you if you had it because it seemed just like your type of game. Guess my intuition was right. ^_~

Wings looked good with Ozzie in goal... but they need to get their offense in tune.

I've been slightly less worried about the offense because a fair amount of players have been scoring. Even if the usual suspects aren't scoring as much, the rest of the team has been stepping up.

They looked good in the later part of Game 6. Nashville came out strong, as expected, but the Wings managed to keep them scoreless in the first, and I think Lidstrom's bouncy fluke goal took the wind out of the Predators. Killing the 5-on-3 afterwards helped a lot. Momentum shifted in the Wings' favor and they never looked back.

Man, I wish I had time for Layton. The only so-called "puzzle" that I didn't like was the one where you had to pick out the kind of chairs that a concert hall? sports place? some sort of event center would have. What the heck kind of puzzle was that?!

Take a break from endless woodworking synths and play some Layton. ^_~

I didn't mind that puzzle, although maybe that was because I got the answer right away. It's a logic puzzle of sorts. There's a few puzzles in the game where the answer is really obvious, but I tended to think too hard because I'd just done a very hard puzzle. The game is sneaky like that.

Would you believe that I got the chair puzzle totally wrong? I was thinking it couldn't be the obvious (because how would it be a puzzle if it was?), so I kept psyching myself out and picked all the wrong answers. :P

I was actually getting into hockey more again, but then, there was rioting here. For beating the #8 team, that the Habs beat like every time in the regular season, in 7 games! Is that even something to be really proud of? That just turned me off again. I'm not investing my time in this now.

Besides, you can root for teams that *aren't* Montreal. Like, oh, DC. ^_~

Hey, my team didn't even make the playoffs. I'm not rooting for the Caps now that I left DC. The Leafs are terrible, though. I feel bad for Sundin; he's never winning a Cup with that team.

Also, I wasn't rooting for Montreal, and I never will. I was just getting into it more again, is all. The atmosphere here helped, but the Habs are the enemy. =P
