Friday I took off from work. It was the first day off I'd had in a long time where I wasn't sick or stuck in the house due to bad weather. While I tend to hoard my vacation days for travel and Christmas, every so often I just need one. I'd been getting serious "I don't want to be here" feelings starting to build up, and the solution for those is generally to take a day and recuperate. It worked, because I'm in an unusually good mood for a rainy Monday. I've been productive and I feel better in general.
I'm nearing the end of Professor Layton. It continues to be really really fun. I find that I prefer the type of puzzles where you're actually doing something, like moving animals across a river or trying to evenly divide juice among multiple pitchers or arranging queens on a chessboard, to ones where you're supposed to count shapes and write the answer. I also managed to download some of the bonus puzzles the last time I was at Greg's, so I've got those to play with as well, plus all the puzzles to be released in future weeks. It's the game that keeps on giving!
Been watching a lot of playoff hockey, too. The Red Wings advanced to the second round yesterday by beating Nashville. The Capitals need to win tonight and tomorrow to advance in their series. So far, I've been mostly pleased with the results, although I was hoping San Jose would have taken out Calgary by now. Particularly as that would set up a Red Wings/Avalanche match next. Just like old times!
