You may remember that last July I asked for opinions on which of three designs for stained glass windows I should choose for my sitting room. (The choice was here - later mocked up by the amazing entropy_house.)

Today was the day when the finished windows were installed!

I like a lot not only the stained glass windows but also the room. Are those the only two windows? They don't seem very big, and I would have thought would make for rather a gloomy room when the weather isn't so glorious as it's been today. It looks as thought the fireplace (and hence chimney) is against an outside wall, which I don't think one sees very often.

No, there are two big windows at the front (the one I had changed last year) and back (don't seem to have any pictures of that, but it's the largest of the lot and includes a French window). Also a tiny one that looks into the front porch.

They've turned out beautifully! And the effect of the light in the last photo is especially lovely. It's interesting, looking back to the mock-ups, how much difference it's made to vary the colours - that was a very good idea.

Yes, I thought the combination of colours would suit them to all seasons.

They look stunning, and the colours go really well with the wall. I love your house as you know. :-)

What are you planning to do with the fireplace?

Hoping to find something a bit more plausible for a 1930 house. Though I think that will have to wait until the bedroom's sorted now.
