The only intelligent mobile phone salesperson I ever met was in Woolworths. A sixteen year o;d who patiently explained all phone types to me, the old fart who cant even text and on whose advice I bought a Virgin Lobster phone for Dave which he loves.Cant help thinking the poor bugger is probably now out of a job.

Orange shops are good - my Dad managed to get a phone from there and he's 78 and *really* given to giving shop asssitants the third degree when he buys stuff

I've never yet found a helpful phone sales assistant. Having said that, thinking about it, I've only ever bought one mobile phone.

Your sales person sounds like a complete twonk. I'd make sure you get a phone that is known for its longevity, so you don't have to go through it for at least another eight years!

I bought my first mobile phone from Argos, and my second from the online store of one of the major electrical appliance chains here. No numpty assistants involved, although that doesn't help much if you need advice.
