On what is clearly a completely separate issue, I was quite interested in David Aaronovitch's comments on the Bad Sex in Fiction Award. I'm not sure I'm convinced by his argument that ridiculing

Bugger, the link won't work for me and I'd really like to read it!

Some of the bad sex award candidates are clearly meant humorously. The judges could be being thick or malicious but I don't think so; I think there's such a built-in embarrassment factor that there is a strong chance of humour on this topic being missed.
