Happy thing - Day 3!

Today's happy thing is something that very frequently makes me happy: reading online tutorials for craft and do-it-yourself projects that I may or may not ever actually get around to trying. As anyone who watches my del.icio.us can attest, I go through mad bookmarking sprees that inundate my list with pages about how to make things out of paper or ( Read more... )

Do it, do it! Btw, my shirt was too big for me and so I did take in the side and shoulder seams some, just so that it would be more streamlined. I was afraid that even with the belt it would be a lot of extra material hanging around. It seemed to work pretty well. :)

I think I might try a slight variation and sew the little belt thing on so that it ties in back and gathers everything behind me. It may look dreadful, but then again, it may work. I'll post pics if it does the latter!

You can tie it either way - mine is just sewn at the sides (actually, I tacked it on with some cute buttons), but it was long enough to wrap it all the way around (front and back) and I just liked the way it looked with the bow in the front. So you should be good either way! :)

AAAAH I want to do the cork board one! Have yet to be bored enough to do the shirt one...

The church's taxes are preventing me from sleeping AND altering a tshirt.

The cork board one is cool, huh? And I can always get more corks from church because Anglicans + parties = lots of leftover win corks.

Yeah, my church doesn't have parties. Just a complete lack of parties and unqualified people doing their taxes.

Brad likes the cork idea too.

The wine cork board thing just looks so fun and easy and results in something interesting and useful! You can also use similar cork-slices to make little coasters and trivets by just sewing them together.
