I join the ranks of Stargate fans...I'm late, but I brought snark!

Dec 13, 2006 11:50

Finally broke down this weekend and watched some Stargate SG-1 episodes with Bill's sisters. Made the mistake of asking to see the very first episode (actually, the first ep after the pilot, because apparently the pilot contains boobies and the girls aren't zoned for that kind of thing, yet) and then watching the second episode directly after the ( Read more... )

I don't think I've seen Rae's post about it...even if I did notice it, I prolly didn't read at the time, since I've only been a fan for about four days or something.

*many amused snorts*

Oh dear, izhilzha will fall apart laughing at this.

And I have a suggestion: My sister's favorite Hammond epithet is "General Babyfacehead".

*cheering ensues*

Okay, this is totally my Christmas present: both you and astrogirl2are getting hooked on one of my favorite shows. *dance of glee*

Also, more parody scripts plz. Teal'c kind of pwns everyone, ever, doesn't he? (I deeply disliked "The Broca Divide" except for Dr. Frasier who is awesome, and Richard Dean Anderson's mad acting skillz which almost made up for the entire stupid plot.)

I dislike all the fanservices they forced Amanda Tapping into so early on, but hey, at the very least they got them all out of the way early. This is definite SG-1's "Naked Time/Naked Now". :-D

Yeah we watched the one with Mongols and oppressed wymynfolk the other night, and I was rolling my eyes kind of a lot about the whole "OMG Carter's a giiiirrrrl!" scene. Whatever. But I figure every show has to get this stuff out of the way before it can really come into its own.

And the "'internal genitalia' OMG Carter's an actual tough woman in a military that has been integrated for decades with high-ranking female officers but boyz still snicker at teh girls" scene really rankled at me, but hey, they more than made up for it later with Sam's character development.

Hahahaha, awesome parody. :D

"I need you guys to help me get my nerd back" Tee hee.

It does get much better, though there are many taunt-worthy episodes, still. I'm still a bit behind myself. Only have DVDs through season five.

I usually lag a few years behind on shows. Just started watching Firefly. And it's like... already a parody of itself... o.o

Heh, you're still ahead of me, as I generally don't start watching a show until it's been cancelled for ages and all the good fanfic ideas have been taken eighteen times each. My record is improving, though, as I plan to watch the DVDs of both House and Boston Legal sometime soon, and they're both still on TV! Woohoo!

I have obsessed over Stargate SG-1 for years. I can't believe the end is coming in April. The last ten episodes. *Sniff* It really is a great, fun show with a wonderful cast. I have a question. I have one of the books (So You Want to be a Wizard) on your Amazon list and wondered if you want it. I bought it used with a lot of other books. When I was trying to understand the style of a young adult novel in the fantasy genre. I got bogged down with other books and never read past the first chapter. It can be a Christmas present, may be belated if I can't mail it right away. I need your address though. I understand if you don't want to give it to someone you barely know from Livejournal. You can send it to my e-mail address: freezingeva @ gmail .com

Actually, I picked that up just recently, I must have forgotten to take it off my list. Thanks for the offer, though! I totally dig it when people offer to send me books.

Free books are good. About a year ago, I picked up Perfume: The Story of a Murderer from the free books at the library. I think I have things I need to take off my list, too.
