Dial-up! OMG teh eval

So here we are in Ft. Bliss, finally. We can't move into housing for another week (which is a far shorter wait than I anticipated, so that's good, at least) and all our furniture and basically everything we own is still in boxes somewhere on a truck getting here, but hey, we're here! And the hotel room is in a military lodging, which makes it ( Read more... )

Anyway, in other news, the kidlet did get into a preschool here and her first day was today. I go to pick her up in a couple hours. (Quiet! Yay!)

That's excellent! Child-free sanity time is a Good Thing. Sounds like the move is going well. Especially getting into your own place sooner than expected.

Oh yes, and since she's in the afternoon class, her school coincides well with the baby's naptime. Yay for a peaceful house! Even if it is temporary. *g*

Oh, pretty good, not counting the fun of cramming two adults and two small children in a single hotel room for a couple weeks. But we have a house, and pretty soon we can get pets! A kitty! *dances* I miss kitties.

Not to be a bitch or something, but I didn't say you could take my "Icky het" icon :( However, as a sort-of compromise, I could let you use my purple/blue version here:

Whuh? I could've sworn you gave me that one when I asked for icons a while back. My bad, I didn't mean to steal it, sorry about that. And I would happy to have the blue purple one, thank you. It's good to be back online, even if my puter time is limited. :-)

I suppose you probably don't have time to read your friends list, but I was wondering if you'd be interested in reading the continuation to "Like Darling Little Boys" (that is up and posted in my journal already) since you were one of the only people who had interest in it before... I also might post the Greg jammies story soon, too, which, of course, you also had interest in. It's hard to find people who will appreciate Greg this way, and you're the only one I know who really does. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

I did notice you posted a sequel, and I saved the story in my To Read folder. I'm curious to see what direction you've gone in, and once I have some quiet time to catch up on all the reading I've been missing, I'd be glad to offer my comments on the story.

Oh, yes, CSI was amazingly great. I actually didn't get to watch last season at all (shame) so, what exactly happend with Catherine and Warrick? Or was it like the Grissom/Sara thing, where they showed you a glimpse of how they felt every five episodes? I think what Cath said was probably the most straightforward they've been with this kind of thing...anyway, I've been kind of lost. So, also, Nick and the bug? What's that all about? And the tape they had at the end of the episode? What? Okay, yeah, I'm kinda lost. (shame)

You missed Grave Danger? The final ep of season five, that is. If you missed that, then yes, several elements of the season 6 opener would be confusing. The bug thing and the tape referred to that episode; I don't want to be too specific and spoil you because seriously, that eppy kicks ass and you should see it as soon as possible. As for Cath and Warrick, they upped the whole flirty tease thing in the previous season, but it was never really concrete; just like Sara and Grissom (which is my anti-couple).

You can probably find Grave Danger online somewhere to be downloaded if you're interested in seeing it; it's a two hour ep, though, so any decent quality file will probably take quite some time to get.

Welcome back. Hope to see you online more soon. :)

No CSI/Atlantis fic requests. But there's a few new J/Ds that are quite good:
Five Conversations Daniel Never Had (Spoilery for first few eps of S9 - but you're ok as long as you know Vala was at the SGC)
The Drake Equation
Loopholes (Spoilers for S9 ep "Ties that Bind")

Oooh, and I have a new icon that you'll love. :)

Fics! Woohoo! Thanks much; I especially love all those "Five things that never happened" type stories. Those are cool for exploring different possibilities. And is the new icon your LJ time wasting one? Because that one is clever and giggleriffic. *g*

(Up there with the one I saw on Fandom Wank, saying: Fandom Wank--because you can't masturbate all the time.

Yup! That would be the one. When I saw the line, I *had* to icon it. :)
