The reason I've decided to come out of hiding and actually get a social life again (even if it's just online) is because I've come to the very concrete realization that I do not shape myself (and to some extent my life) - other people do.

How can someone grow without the touch of another human being or the sense or even the opinions of others. All those things made us who we are today. ;) Just never give up on yourself and never isolate yourself for too long. It could be really hard to come back to the real world, full of strangers.
...It's already quite hard!
And yet I still had to go out and do my groceries - speak to other people despite the fact I didn't want to relate to them.
I can't imagine how it must be like to be fully isolated from everyone... fall into a coma for years and then wake up. Eep! :o

"Don't be sheep!" Yes, simply not possess ones morality of right and wrong, and see how quickly they find themselves locked up. Or on a shrinks couch for sociopathic behavior (Antisocial Personality Disorder). Or consuming a rediculous amount of pills due to claims of 'chemical imbalance'. Poked and prodded, mind analyzed and torn. Why? Because you're different.
It may not be right for us to act this way, but I just think that's how we managed to keep a certain level of sanity throughout the centuries... Our species needs the mental comfort labeling brings in order to survive what would be an otherwise harsh reality for pretty much everyone involved (I personally don't agree with this 'cotton ball' ideal, since it's so often mistaken for 'happiness' or 'well-being', but hey ( ... )
