Does this torture routine include a component of "oh, by the way, we don't actually know if we're feeding you the poison until we run the blood tests and make sure your kidneys and liver aren't failing today?"

It's okay, today there was the woman in the cubicle next door who kept crying out for demerol, and was being transferred to hospice care. It was definitely a "count your blessings" moment.

I hope things improve for you and your loved ones. Thank god for gallows humor, and thanks for sharing those snatches of it with your dad - I feel like it allows life to at least temporarily conquer morbidity.

Bodlan is right, that does sound grueling and horrible.

Would it be of any help if I hated you FOR you so you wouldn't have to do it yourself? It would be very difficult for me but I am willing to make the effort if doing so would make things easier on you.
