Do you use either No Script or Ad Block, and if so, how do you configure them for LJ?

unfortunately, LJ still occasionally freaks out on me, so I've had to make blanket exceptions for NoScript and Adblock for all the livejournal subdomains.

but even so, I occasionally need to clear cache/cookies to keep everything functioning.

I use a variety of firefoxen (on windows/linux/mobile) and have always had these problems with livejournal specifically.

Can you walk me through doing the blanket subdomain thing for NoScript and AdBlock for LJ? I've looked at what little documentation there is for this, and I don't understand quite how to do it. Tech support request from outlaw_poet, stat!

well for NoScript it's pretty simple. Just right click the icon and go to Options on it, and find the "Whitelist", in there you need to make sure that "livejournal.com" and "lj-toys.com" are on that list. listing a sub-domain like "outlawpoet.livejournal.com" DOES NOT COUNT, and can cause problems, so remove it.

For AdBlock Plus, there's probably some clever way to do it, but I've never found it. In your address bar, type in "livejournal.com" only, and press enter. That should bring you to the frontpage of livejournal. Right click on the ABP button, and you should have a "disable on 'livejournal.com' option. Select that, and ABP should honor that for all subdomains and be green in all communities and journals after that.

Let me know if any of this doesn't work for you. I know it's fiddly.

Anyway, I wish you a happy year until your next birthday, and you should let us more recent, but no less devoted fans know where we might send comics and presents next time. PO Boxes and forwarding addresses are easier to get these days!

I've got nothin', sadly. :/

The only things I can even think of are clearing all temp files/cache thingies.

*offers hugs'n'snuggles, meantime* (and belated happy birthdays!)

I tried that to no avail. But thanks! *snuggles*

How are you? What are you reading/watching/loving/hating right now?

What are Haven and Lost Girl? I haven't heard of either of them. Same with Dark Blue! Enlighten me, dear heart. I'll look up Lyn Benedict and Rachel Caine - I've not heard of them, either.

I'm loving B5 again, too. I started watching S1 on Netflix the other night!

What was the Spitfire issue?

As for me, Eric Trautmann is putting out right now a new Red Sonja book, and the art is gorgeous. I'm squeeing because he took her out of her mail bikini and back into her chain mail shirt. The writing's wonderful, as usual with Eric. She's kicking as by the fourteenth panel.

This plus the Facebook/Twitter debacle of last week may finally drive me from LJ to Dreamwidth.

How are you?
