I can't go this year. My last day at work is July 31st, and I have a LOT to do here before I leave. :-(

Also, I'll be poor.

BUT! Who are you dressing up as this year? I'm so sad that I can't go.

Oh, my, that icon.

So how long will you be there? And when IS SDCC this year? What week in July?

Can't Norman Osborn just die already?

It's the only worthwhile thing his character has ever done.

One thing that I think that Marvel has unintentionally achieved with Dark Reign?

SO many people now loathe Norman Osborn, but with all the dualistic fury of hating a character both because of what he does in-universe and because of what he's been pushed to do by creators and editorial.

Yeah. I'll be very happy if Osborn is dead by the time Dark Reign and the Next Imminent Crossover is completed. My only problem is that I'm very torn between wanting it to be Jimmy Woo and the Agents of Atlas AND Fury to be the one(s) who take him down. HARD.

The problem is, I don't think Norman will be ALLOWED to die.

I honestly think that Norman is Quesada's Canon Villain Sue.

Quesada was the one who revised "Sins Past" so that Peter and Gwen never slept together, and Gwen lost her virginity to Norman instead.

Quesada is the one who insisted, even after OMD, and even after JMS BEGGED him to retcon it, that Gwen/Norman was STILL IN CANON in BND.

Quesada is the one who defended this by talking about what a "charismatic" and "sexually attractive" man Norman is.

And Quesada is the one who's pushed Norman into the position of lording it over people who are infinitely better than him, without any proper in-story justification for it whatsoever, to the point of Norman literally being regarded by the public of the Marvel Universe as a greater hero than Iron Man and Captain America COMBINED.

QUESADA WANTS NORMAN OSBORN TO WIN.

Yes, I know, and I'm officially dropping the subject because I don't even want to think about it, although I don't know how much of Dark Reign is driven directly by Quesada, thus I suspect that blame may be apportioned out to more than one person.

It's too depressing. Norman Osborn: making me sad in real life. :-( :-(

(Randomly, vis a vis earlier comments you made last night/today to other people here, please don't ever post comments like that again on this journal. I've got my issues with the person in question over some of his past remarks, but dude, no. Not here.)

I'm going to have to give it some thought. Vincent D'Onofrio is too old now.

I would feel kinda dirty after linking to a Liefeld! interview. Does that help?

I DO feel somewhat...unclean. In fact, I'm sitting here contemplating a nice, long shower with tea tree oil strafing beforehand to wipe out any lingering Liefeld contagion.
