Yeah, I can only see the Blues going out in a huge feat of self sacrifice to power up the greens and save the universe.

Oh, Johns is gonna kill all the Blues off, no doubt, and it's too bad, because they're entirely unusual in concept and very refreshing to read. But from DC's perspective, they probably don't work too well as a new mainstay of the DC verse, because people would be justifying in asking "why send the Green Lanterns into sector 1937 if you can send the Blues?" The Blues have the power to literally act as change agents, not just intergalactic space cops (good space cops, but ultimately space cops). Blues might have the power to actually heal huge chunks of an entire society, and that's incredibly interesting.

So, nah. If it's *that* interesting and novel? DC won't do it.

I can't imagine that any of the other Corps other than the Star Sapphires, the Sinestro Corps, and the Green Lanterns will survive beyond Blackest Night or what comes immediately thereafter. Yellows get to stay around as the occasional bogey for the Green Lanterns. Star Sapphires get to stay around for the same reason.

I bet they all get wiped out, maybe a few stragglers survive to be occasional bad guys, and the yellows will probably remain. Though if you read the last issue, the Blues only work if there's a green around, so they can't really operate without a green lantern present.

I'm betting lots and lots of internet capital that that will change very quickly as the other Corps come into play. Part of the psychological resonance and complexity of this story is going to see how the different Corps interact with each other and what the unintended side effects and consequences are.
