I have actually gotten hooked on a TV show -- Grease: You're The One That I Want -- to the point of going over to my mom's last night in the snowy drizzle to watch it since I have no reception at home (I stumbled on it while out in California). This is a very strange concept for me, since with everything else I'm really interested in I will ( Read more... )

3 -- Narrator, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, opening version of "Any Dream Will Do"

5 -- Audrey II, Little Shop Of Horrors...I think the song is called "Go Get It"?

7 -- Sky Masterson, Guys and Dolls, "Luck Be A Lady"

8 -- Betty Rizzo, Grease, I think it's "The Worst Thing I Could Do"?

14 -- I don't remember the character, State Fair, "It Might As Well Be Spring"

Is #9 "I'd Do Anything For You" from Oliver Twist? The artists would be whomever plays Nancy and Dodger, but I can't recall their names.

Some of these are on the CDs you made me!

13 - 'Show Me' from My Fair Lady, sung by Eliza

#6: "Let's Go to the Movies" from Annie (curse you for that! now it is stuck in my head)

#15: I choose to call it "Let's Talk About the Weather" from the Pirates of Penzance, sung by all of the Major General's daughters (except Mabel of course, since she's too busy singing the interweaving duet...)

Muaha. Stuck in the head is good... though I couldn't have any music playing while I was typing up these because it would mess me up. And I figured you would be the one to get #15. =)

2 sounds like something from maybe Bye Bye Birdie? (I know I know it, but I'm not 100% sure that's the right show)(song would be "I've got a lot of living to do"

(I knew a bunch of the others that were already done)

And that's exactly what it is... this is the song where the lyrics changed the most from the stage to the movie, especially with this song. This one's the Ann-Margret movie version.

I googled it - AFTER my comment and found out I was right - or close enough. (though I don't remember the name of the girl that sang it. Was probably the lead girl, but I have no idea what her name was.) I would have been able to answer 7, 9, 13 and maybe 15 too, but they were already done.

Kim MacAfee is the character, and yes, she's the lead girl... played by Ann-Margret, who got sexed up a little more for this particular number than the stage version.
