What an awesome post! I, myself, am not a big gardener, but I enjoy the beauty of what others plant and tend and nurture. And I love the fact that even winter's cold cannot claim the rebirth of spring.

I am pretty big on the gardening thing - kinda why I wanted house with a yard. I find myself staring at my little plots set aside and wondering what I can put where... And looking at bulbs and having to REALLLY reign myself in... *cheesy grins* but who knew there were sooo many kinds/colors of tulips and daffodil like things out there???!!! Lowes hates me- they put them right inside the front door. *cheesy pout*

I think it comes from years of helping my mom with her flowers, and being able to come home in the fall to fresh veggies (esp carrots). For me, there really is something about the whole 'touch the earth' thing that's renewing. And a spiritual aspect about being part of the whole life/death/life cycles. As well as a pride thing. Hard to explain until you've been there.

Have fun at the bedding plants and garden stores next spring! :)

Gardening is what saved my emotional and mental life years ago. It grounds you in a way that nothing else can. I'm so happy that you've experienced this joy...it truly is wonderful. We interact with plants on a quantum level and they are very healing and calming. Try sitting up against a tree sometime with your back against the trunk. After about 10 minutes not only will you feel calmer, you'll be receiving wisdom.
