Let us not forget that British forces wore the Red Serge in not only India as the good Captain mentions, but also while fighting the Zulu at Rorke's Drift in Africa! Like leather, a proper woollen garment can be worn in all seasons regardless of the latitude or climate!

there was like one group of steampunk soliders that were done up like Imperial Soldiers, they were very steampunky

that person was indeed talking out their poophole
