Sorry, stumbled on this and had to reply.
Doesn't this look like Shuurei's mother/Shouka thing? When she refused him for the longest time and then finally accepted him??? Shuurei is doing the same thing to poor Ryuuki. :-(
But I wonder how it will end....

I am pro Ryuuki/Shuurei and I do want a happy ending for Ryuuki, but who knows how it will end.

In a way, yes it is similar. However, Shouka speculates that Ryuuki will have an even harder time with Shuurei than he had with his wife. At least in Shouka's case, he wasn't the Emperor. ^^;

I wonder how anime will end since novels are not done. Hope its decent ending of some sorts.

I'm wondering if it mightn't be fairly open ended since, as you mentioned, the novels aren't done yet. We do have an idea of how things will end ultimately from the first novel, but how that will happen is anyone's guess. :?

Well, it looks like Shuurei is the kind of woman who probably will choose her career over any guy who likes her. Oh well, lol.

Like I said, it's very open ended but there's a line at the end of the first novel saying something like:

In administration there was Li, Kou and in the military Ran, Shi. So we know that Shuurei (and Seiran) will eventually be high-ranked in their respective fields. Depending on how you read into that information, it's also very possible that Shuurei will never marry Ryuuki therefore. ^^;

What about magic stuff? The things there were saying in the beginning of anime? Those 8 spirits/guardians/whatever it was (need to rewatch 1st episode but too lazy, lol)
Does any of it shows up later in the novels?
