So I figured out how to log in to Dreamwidth with openid, which turns out not to be that hard. Should anyone want ot throw an invite code my way, I'd be thrilled, but if not, I'll be there when they open for open-beta on the 30th

As Zvi's already said, DW is not intended to be a primarily fannish site even though they welcome fannish people. This is a quote from a mailing list post Denise made back in August:DW isn't a fandom-centric service. Or rather, our motivation for creating it isn't fandom-specific; we certainly do hope members of fandom will find a home with us, but we also hope that members of many other subcultures will find a home with us, and we don't think that any particular subculture is more or less valuable than any other.
