So I figured out how to log in to Dreamwidth with openid, which turns out not to be that hard. Should anyone want ot throw an invite code my way, I'd be thrilled, but if not, I'll be there when they open for open-beta on the 30th ( Read more... )

The whole concept of teaching using blogs and such is really cool. Do the students like it?

i didn't know you could log on to dreamwidth with openid! so i did too. :D (i have no idea if i want to pay for an account later on or not, but i figure this way if people i like to read leave lj for dw, i can still follow them. theoretically.)

my guess is that at first they're going to have a lot of fannish users, because it seems to be getting the most press in fannish communities, but i think they welcome everyone. like, fan-friendly but not fan-only.

They are not a fannish business, and their target users are 'people who make stuff', which includes but is not limited to mediafandom. They've already got plenty of non-fannish communities.

Cool! One of the things I like about LJ is the ability to have my other interests beyond fandom popping up on my friendslist. I mean, there's more to life, you know?
