The HD one is 180 hours of regular broadcast... I think it's only something like 50 or 60 HD...

Wait until you get it!!! I love new TiVo owners... It's like watching someone with a new puppy... "My TiVo is so cute!!! It keeps taping shows I have on DVD. And "BAD TiVo!!! Why is it taping one instead of the other?" (The answer by the way, is Season Pass Priority)

I don't even have HD; it's the 180 hours of regular that's tempting me. On the other hand, if I went back to satellite (I'm using cable now), I wouldn't be able to use the HD one. So I'm not sure.

Make sure you get the kind with the dual tuner so it can record one thing while you watch something else...

I almost replied to your other post to warn you that if you do get a TiVo you should be prepared to do nothing but sit in front of your television all the time. Because normally if there's nothing good on television I'll go do something else, but with TiVo it'll have recorded something good two days ago or whatever and I can never watch all of it because there aren't enough hours in the day even with commercial skipping omg i am addicted don't take my tivo awaaaaaaay...

That's actually what I want--to be able to save up my shows from the week and watch them on the weekend so that I can go to bed at a reasonable time (which, when you function best on 10 hours sleep and have to be at work at 7:30, is a very *early* time).

Yeah, I used to always be in lab at night thinking, "did I set the VCR or not?" And more of than not, I hadn't.
