I had a revelation today: I was in Payless looking at shoes and tried on this pair that had probably a 1-1 1/2 inch square-ish heel. The pain in my lower back and running down my calves eased *immediately*. Sadly, they had them in 8, not 8 1/2, and I could tell that they would pinch my feet. I have wide feet anyway, so finding shoes is a pain ( Read more... )

No helpful tips about shoes I'm afraid.

I'm paying for my LJ for two months at the time right now. I refuse to go back to automatic payement but I need ScrapBook for kevin_daily & bsb_daily and I just couldn't do without my icons so downgrading to Basic isn't an option. Paying every second month may be more expensive than once a year but it gives me the option to get out in a hurry if I need to.

That's a good idea! I think I'll go that route.

Hmm. I'm not sure how those would look with my slacks and blouses. On the other hand, I wouldn't have to worry about kids stepping on my feet.

Sorry no ideas about your shoe dilema. I hope you'll get some good ideas from other responders.

Here's my two cents about paying moolah to lj. Bottom line, I love having the option of more than 6-13 icons so that's why after almost a year w/o paying for a paid account and extra user pics I finally gave in not too long ago. And thanks to you for the birthday gift of paid time.

If you're really not into wanting to have & use a large amount of icons and not into doing polls on your lj, I say you'd be fine without the paid account 'perks'.

What I really like about paid journals--aside from the ad issue--is being able to read my friends of friends list. I decided to pay two months at a time for a while and see how things go.
