God, I love it. Little Jamie's so cute! I especially like 04, 08 and 11. 50 is also beautiful. I can somehow imagine all the things you described very well, if that isn't a good sign! :D
Hee, I love little Jamie too; I thought Norrington must have had a pet nickname as a lad, and thus the idea of the mini-Commodore was born. Thank you - I'm glad you enjoyed these! :)
I saw this on the 1character comm, and am very glad I chanced to read it. The imagery and sense of the character are vivid and some of the turns of phrase you have are just wonderful. I especially like Bell, Star and Glass.
and he trapped his grief within each crisp fold, and smoothed out the wrinkles till it lay quite flat and still upon the bed.
Thank you. :) I thought Norrington would have tried to hide his grief over his mother's death rather than let it all out, and "Fold" just seemed to fit nicely with that. I like to see it as the first of a long series of repressions that lead his character to become what it is in the film.
Thank you so much. I wasn't sure if this was quite good enough, or if I'd bitten off more than I could chew by trying to summarise his whole childhood in 50 sentences, but I'm glad it's turned out all right. I'm so pleased you enjoyed them. :D
Oh, thank you, Ebs! Coming from you that means an awful lot. I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to pull this off, you've no idea. *hugs*
Grim is one of my favourites too. I was stuck on that prompt, so I just started to think Norrington thoughts, and wigs somehow sprang to mind - can't imagine why. ;)
