Sparing and a bit sad. I wanted to read a happy ending, but ended up with a bit of wistfulness and dead silence, but it was lovely all the same.

Aw, thank you! I know what you mean about being in the mood to read one sort of ending over another...and to be honest, I wasn't sure I could write angst until a month or two ago and then everything had this depressing, ambiguous ending. But! My beta dredged up a fic I wrote a bit ago and it does have a happy ending so as soon as I whack some language into shape, there will be Happy Ending! fic. :) In the meantime, thanks for the lovely comments!

maybe he just gets bored and doesn't care about finishing I love this line!
THe whole thing has such fun lines, but it has such a sad tone and ending.

Thank you! That line you quoted was completely inspired by the voiceovers at LordoftheRings.Net I swear, Viggo sounds like he forgot what he was doing during his greeting and wandered off to write a poem or shag Orlando or something. I'm glad you enjoyed the story! (Or storylet.)

I know, poor woobie! And thing is, Viggo probably IS telling him that he's there and he loves him, but in such oblique, Viggo ways, Orlando's blind to them. (I speak from personal experience. "You bought me a clock because you were trying to make up for something? What?") Thank you for commenting! I love it when people think about fic.
