I moved my batch of mead into the secondary fermenter this afternoon and measured the gravity at 1.025. I don't have the recipe handy and I don't remember what the ending gravity should be

Yeah, the racking process seems to have reinvigorated the yeast. Rate was pretty slow before racking, but is now going about once every six seconds. Looks like you'll have a pretty strong mead on your hands. So far, it's at 9.825% ABV from a drop of 1.1 OG to 1.025 FG(assuming the formula is the same for mead as it is for beer).

The recipe gave an approximate starting gravity of 1.100 rather than the 1.112 I measured, so I don't think it'll get all the way down to 1.005.
