Went to railway action meeting in the evening. V annoyed - our peak services are being cut so that improvements in speed can be made for people who might (might) want to travel from Bradford to Manchester.

They wanted to do this not long ago on the Eastern Region main line suburban services to King's Cross - at one point they wanted to close Welwyn North station entirely, so they could speed up the express services between the Cross and points further north (there's a bottleneck between Welwyn Garden City and Woolmer Green, as Welwyn Viaduct, and Welwyn North and South Tunnels, are only twin-track). Thankfully, they saw sense, and they left the suburban services and stations intact. I hope the same happens for your local trains.

I live about 800 yards from site of the old station in Dav and 200 yards from the old railway line. I really wish it was still in service.
