Its a more difficult process than I originally figured. The other comment that was deleted also brought up the other murders. The Right Wing propaganda machine is rife with "LOOK! See how vicious they are! Kill them all!" But when you look at the numbers, which Tim Wise has done here

They listen to the animal part of the brain. Fight or flight, everything different is threatening. The lizard brain. The primitive brain. Empathy comes from the higher brain.. which apparently stops working when you become a conservative.
