Letters to DC: Charade pseudo recap

Apr 29, 2010 13:37

I thought it'd be cool to recap Charade as a mash up a letters to Martha from Clark, Lois, and Chloe. I still think it was a cool idea but I've spent as much time as I'm willing to spend on it and unfortunately it didn't turn out nearly as cool as I hoped. I was hoping for funny and yet a lot of the funny seemed to get derailed. Nevertheless here ( Read more... )

Brilliant. Not only is the image of them actually sitting and writing those letters sort of hilarious, OTOH, there are parts of the letters that are genuinely touching. Great job. :-)

Thanks. I started out thinking I could write a fluffy little he said/she said/she said montage based on various opposing POV's but all this emotionality just kind of kept creeping and pretty much had taken over by the end.

I guess that's not necessarily a bad thing though. It was a pretty emotional episode after all.

I understand why the humour got leached out of it - they're writing to Martha after everything went wrong, so even the funny bits seem more poignant now. I still enjoyed it immensely - good way of recapping!

I'm really pleased to hear you enjoyed it because if it's not largely humorous it's kind of out of my wheelhouse and I'm never sure if it's going to work.

Thanks!

Very creative!

Do you know that last bit from Clark made me really sad. It breaks my heart that Clark's mother isn't really in his life anymore. There have been so many times over the last 3 years that I just think to myself that he could use a hug from Mom.

Clark so needs a hug. I don't think the premise of this season wouldn't have worked at all if Martha were still around to give him support. Not that it necessarily worked very well without her but that's a whole other kettle of fish.

I really enjoyed this! You know, it flowed much like the episode did, in that it started out funny, and then the emotional part sort of crept in, and then by the end it was really tugging at my heartstrings. Very nicely done!

I loved the three voices, and the differences between them. Your Chloe is the Chloe I've missed. Her snark made me laugh. :) I also liked how you added a little insight into each character's POV.

I especially liked the part where Lois and Clark each complained about the other one getting them fired. hee! And both of their closing lines made me want to give them a hug. Clark needs his mom back in his life.

Your Chloe is the Chloe I've missed.I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Chloe. I don't think if I could bear writing her as cold as they've made her at times this year.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
