Busy Me

Had a VERY pleasant time chillin' with old friends for St Patty's day. The corned beef and cabbage were excellent, even though I arrived a bit late thanks to atrocious traffic. Tasty dinner, yummy dessert, a bit of sampling of irish whiskey, and sitting down together to view "DALEK". Dot's kids are growing up so fast...it was my first time meeting ( Read more... )

I think SciFi needs to add a few more commercials to Doctor Who. Ugh. I guess I got spoiled watching it at meetings with no commercials.

I second that. I don't know if it's just that I'm used to seeing them without commercials, but there seemed to be more than usual.

Actually SCI-FI did edit a min here and there out of the episodes. The biggest one we noticed was that they took out the scene where Cassandra started to play a "ballad of old Earth" to commerate the distruction of the planet. The the song Toxic would be played on the juke box (aka I-Pod) But on the Sci-Fi airing You just saw the record begin to play, no intro.

ANother edit (all be it minor) was when Micky was waiting for Rose int eh car and you see a man take the garbage out.

I only hope they do not edit the Jack/Doctor kiss :-)

Yeah, I noticed that, and it killed the joke! :( She calls it a classical Ballad, doesn't she?

I bet it was that they didn't have the rights for the use of that song in the US!

No, they played the song. They just killed the joke by getting rid of casandra's introduction to it....

I HIGHLY recommend going to Akihabara. I told John about that.

Ueno is more like the traditional stuff and where they have some museums and parks and zoos.

Sushi and ramen are awesome in Japan.

Yeah....we won't exactly have much time to sightsee, but I'm pretty familiar with the Akihabara, Ueno, Harajuku, and Shinjuku areas from prior trips. (Though they closed my favorite Mandarake shop in Shinjuku near Shibuya.)
