Sookie had been obediently on bedrest since they'd returned from Shreveport last night. Both Karla and Raven had been quite adamant about her need to sleep and rest, no matter how shiny her hair was, thanks to Bill's help. And really, she hadn't argued -- after the events of the week, there was little she wanted to do more than just let her body

As much as Bobby enjoyed cookies, they weren't exactly a balanced meal, and so at some point he'd managed to abandon his hovering for a few minutes to head out to grab a couple of burgers from Lacey's. And a cup of tea as well, which he'd been very careful to make sure it did not become iced tea by the time he actually made it back to Sookie's room.

"I come bearing gifts," he announced, balancing the takeout bag in one arm as he shouldered his way into the room.

"This is why you're the best," Sookie sighed with a small, but genuine smile. "Raven says I'm allowed to get out of bed, by the way." And Karla had said she wasn't crazy, so good day all around? "Oh my God, did you actually make it through town with a hot drink that stayed hot?" she added, raising a brow at him.

"I did!" he said proudly. "And I suppose if Raven says it's okay, it's okay," he relented.

"Not that I feel like getting up and dancing or doing jumping jacks or anything," she added, "but I'm getting better. I mean, look how shiny my hair is."

Not...really related to her recovery so much as ingestion of Bill's blood.

"I don't think that's exactly a reliable indicator," Bobby wrinkled his nose at her.

"No, but it's pretty, and I'll take 'pretty' over how I've looked the past couple days," she said a little darkly, reaching for the tea. "I really do feel better, though."

Bobby frowned a little at the tone, although it's not like he could begrudge it, exactly. More that he wished she didn't have cause to feel that way. "I'm glad," he finally settled on. "Because you scared the hell out of me, you know." He might have mentioned that once or twice, yeah.

"Let's be fair, here -- Russell, and Eric, and Bill scared the hell out of you, by hurting me," Sookie corrected, picking at her bedspread. "I didn't do a whole lot on my own."

Aside from the psychotic break in the bar, and all.

"Aside from the thing with the vampire goo?" Bobby asked.

"So are those burgers? I'm actually hungry."

Sookie was totally a master at subject changes, really.

"They are," Bobby was going to let her get away with the subject change for now. "From Lacey's, which, I know you work there and can get their food like, any time? But they're good burgers. So," he shrugged.

"I think red meat is probably good for me right now, anyway," she added. "Low iron count and all that. It's not every day you get fed on by four different vampires. I'm surprised Pam didn't decide she wanted a taste, honestly."

"Gross, Sookie," Bobby made a face at her. "I swear to god, the next vampire to even look like he's thinking about making you a meal is getting put on ice and shipped off to Antarctica."

She smiled a little, shrugging. "I have to joke about it, or I'll go crazy. Crazier, rather. But thanks."

"You're not crazy," Bobby said firmly. "...No matter what the Warren in my world says regarding the fact that you're actually still dating me."

"Oh, your-Warren," she sighed, smiling softly. "He's adorable. But Karla says I'm not either, but...I dunno, you saw me. Something's wrong. So hey, you go tell your Warren that I'm the messed up one in this relationship, and you're wildly patient for putting up with me. Then we'll see what he has to say."
